Agriscience
Overview
Agriscience Education is a vital, interdisciplinary pathway that prepares students for essential careers within the vast food, fiber, and natural resources industries. It empowers students with the scientific knowledge, technological skills, and business acumen needed to sustainably manage natural systems, ensure global food security, and contribute to environmental stewardship in a rapidly evolving world.
Its unique focus is on the integrated applications of biology, chemistry, and technology across all segments of agriculture—from production, processing, and distribution to resource management, biotechnology, and power mechanics. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning and a comprehensive understanding of the entire agricultural value chain, from “farm to fork.”
Students have the opportunity to be a member of the National FFA Organization (FFA), where they may participate in Career and Leadership Development Events (CDE/LDEs) covering skills like agronomy, veterinary science, and public speaking at the local, state, and national levels, or be active in conducting Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) that involve entrepreneurial projects, research, or internships.
