Congratulations to the Boys Hockey Team for their win over Viroqua.
Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Basketball Teams who swept Logan last night. Girls Hockey fought hard against a strong competitor in Rochester Mayo but did not win.
The Gymnastics Team placed 2nd in the Conference Meet. Caelen Lansing won all events and the all-around with a score of 35.75 and earned the Meet High Score in the Floor Exercise with a score of 9.575.
There is a DECA meeting TODAY in Room 118 during MLT.
Dance Team: Plan on being at school TODAY at 4:30 PM to meet your new Coach. There is also a Parent Meeting TODAY at 5:00 PM as well.
There will be an FCCLA meeting during MLT TOMORROW in Room 105.
Class Officers: There will be a meeting on Tuesday, January 16th during Resource in Room 115 to take the yearbook picture.
Sports Picture Day will be Wednesday, January 17th. Powerlifting at 1:40, Girls Basketball at 1:50, Boys Basketball at 2:15. If you are interested in ordering pictures bring your order form and payment with you.
Seniors: Parking is posted for 3rd Quarter. See Mrs. Goodman for your hang tag. Parking starts on January 23rd.
All Forensics Students: You must see Coach Lawrynk this week to verify your participation and solidify your category for competition. Sub districts are only a month away on February 12th.

First Semester Finals: January 17th (Periods 1,2, & 8), January 18th (Periods 3, 4, & 5) and January 19th (Periods 6 & 7). Periods 1,3,6: 8:00 – 9:30, Periods 2,4,7: 9:45 – 11:15, Lunch: 11:15 – 12:00, Periods 5 & 8: 12:00 – 1:30. The bus leaves Wednesday & Thursday at 1:40 and on Friday at Noon. Lunch will be served all three days.
The Olympics are soon approaching and so is Olympic Week at Central. Submit your Olympic Week t-shirt designs to Mrs. Ahnen in the Health Room by Friday, January 12th.

Finals are less than a week away so if you are looking for some help preparing or finishing up assignments prior to the end of the semester consider taking advantage of The Central Peer Tutoring Program. The La Crosse Central Volleyball Association is having a volleyball open gym from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Sundays during the months of January through May. Please enter through the Cafeteria East Entrance. If you have any questions e-mail email@example.com.
Are you looking to start the new year off right? Come and participate in the first ever Kettlebell Challenge and Indoor Triathlon in the Fitness Center. To learn more or to sign up stop by the Fitness Center and check out the flyers and talk to Taylor the supervisor. Both programs will run until February 26th.
A big Thank You to all who have donated to the Winter Weather Wardrobe. Donations will continue to be collected during the Winter months. The drop off box is located outside Mrs. Hutschenreuter’s room (317). If you or someone you know needs a jacket, snow pants, boots, a hat, gloves or scarf make sure you visit the Winter Weather Closet. Any staff member will be happy to get you what you need.
Baseball and Softball Players: Night Open Gym is every Monday and Thursday in January and February from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM in the Hackett Gym.

The Mark and Anne Hansen Foundation Scholarship: This is a new scholarship and is one of great magnitude. To be eligible to apply students must be a graduating senior from Central, a resident of the State of Wisconsin, a student admitted to UW-Madison or another University of similar stature for the coming academic year, and a person unable without scholarship assistance be able to attend a University. For more information or an application see the Student Services staff. Applications are due by 3:30 PM on Wednesday, January 31,2018.
Firefighters Credit Union Scholarship: Applicant or parent must be a member of the Firefighters Credit Union, student must have a cum GPA of 3.0 or higher and must intend to pursue educational training in a 2 or 4-year program. DUE DATE: 3:30 PM ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2018.
Christopher Jordan Spirit Scholarship: Student must be college bound, must be a member of the Central LC Club, and must have a cum GPA of 3.0-3.799. Must be highly regarded by the student body, teachers and coaches for having exhibited a blend of academic success as well as extra-curricular success and proud to be a part of Central. Their presence must have made Central a better place to be. DUE DATE: 3:30 pm ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2018.
Christopher Jordan Memorial Scholarship: Must be pursuing a 4-year program post- secondary education in a public or nonpublic University or College, must have a cum GPA of 3.0 or higher. DUE DATE 3:30 PM ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2018.
Harry W. Schultz Athletic-Leadership Memorial Scholarship: Must be college bound, minimum 3.0 GPA required, minimum of two varsity letters in Senior year. DUE DATE: 3:30 PM ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2018.
Mary Patros Community Service Scholarship: This scholarship is meant for a student who has given of themselves to the community they live in. Student needs to be involved in the activity as a volunteer and has volunteered over a period of years. DUE DATE: 3:30 PM ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2018.
Badger State Sportsmen’s Club Scholarship: Must have a cum GPA of at least 2.0, have plans for future school/education in Wildlife Biology, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Fisheries, Natural Resources Law Enforcement or a related field. Preferred that the applicant not be going into Environmental Studies. DUE DATE: 3:30 PM ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2018.
