La Crosse Education Connection

The La Crosse Public Education Foundation (LPEF) and the School District of La Crosse are bringing together the third cohort of La Crosse Education Connection – a select group of thought leaders called to positively transform our region through active engagement in our schools and community. You have been identified as someone we would like to invite to learn more about our school district and be a part of this forward thinking group.

La Crosse Education Connection will convene Friday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the District Office (Hogan Administrative Center) once a month from September through May. Topics discussed will include curriculum, instruction and assessments, technology, special education, school facilities, safety, school culture, and community engagement. A list of dates and tentative topics are listed below:

  • Friday, September 12th – District Overview
  • Friday, October 10th – School Community Relations, and Engagement
  • Friday, November 14th – District/State Budget & Funding
  • Friday, December 5th – School/Classroom Leadership & Assessment Tools
  • Friday, January 9th – Digital Learning & Technology
  • Friday, February 6th – Student Services & Special Education
  • Friday, March 13th – District Operations, Facilities & Construction
  • Friday, April 10th – School Culture, Safety, & Staff/Community Engagement
  • Friday, May 1st –  Redefining Ready – New measures of student success

To learn about these topics we will be inviting subject matter experts from across the school district. In addition we will be facilitating a book study on Jamie Vollmer’s excellent book, “Schools Cannot Do It Alone.” (Don’t worry, if reading is tough to fit in or not your thing, we will provide summaries in advance each month and summarize before we discuss the latest chapter.)
