Our Mission

What We Stand For

Students will discover their talents and abilities and will be prepared to pursue their dreams and aspirations while contributing effectively to their local, national, and global communities.

Our Facilities

We Are Providing an Environment for Our Students to Grow & Excel

The School District of La Crosse serves a population of 80,000 that includes all of the city of La Crosse, which has approximately 55,000 residents, and all or part of the towns of Medary, Shelby, Campbell, Bergen, Greenfield, Hamburg, and Washington.

You’ll be pleased by the many outstanding educational and family-focused opportunities the area provides. In addition to an outstanding school district, we have three institutions of higher education, two major medical facilities, and a surprising number of excellent arts, athletic, and recreational organizations.

Our Vision

Small Class sizes are a top priority

The School District of La Crosse is the only district of our size that has maintained SAGE classrooms in kindergarten through 3rd grade. The SAGE (Student Achievement Guarantee in Education) program provides funding to help maintain lower class size in the early grades. The average elementary school class has 18 children; while the average middle school class has 26 students and our high school classes average 25 to 30 students.
