Garrett Zimmerman- 7th/8th grade advisor
Hello students, parents, and community members. I am overjoyed to be working as an advisor at LDI! I was born and raised in the small town of Hillsboro, WI, which is about an hour from La Crosse. I grew up in a household of educators. My mother is a first grade teacher at a neighboring school district, and my father was the 6-12 principal at my alma mater of Hillsboro. In high school, I was extremely busy and tried as many different activities or clubs as possible. I was in football, basketball, track, Drama Club, band (tubas are the best), and FBLA. I am still an avid sports fan (Go Pack Go!). I also coach for for Longfellow Middle and am the head girls basketball coach at Logan High. I love to be active, and I try to encourage others to do the same. After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, where I majored in Broad Field Social Studies Education with minors in History and Economics. Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com. I would be happy to discuss anything you need! Have a great year!
Katy Gallenberg- 7th/8th grade advisor
Hello to all of the LDI parents and students, as well as the La Crosse community members. I want to start by saying that I am very excited to join the LDI team as the new teacher/advisor. I am from Antigo, which is in north central Wisconsin. My family owns a potato farm which I grew up on for the first half of my life. My dad and the farm taught me what it meant to work hard for what you have and that is something instilled in me yet today. Music has always been a large part of my life, and in high school I played saxophone in the marching band and took piano lessons. I was also involved in soccer and clubs such as the national honors society, Job’s Daughters, and drama club. After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where I majored in Chemistry Education with a Mathematics Education Minor. My hobbies include playing cards, playing piano when I get the chance, going hiking on the bluffs and going fishing in the summer. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am looking forward to a great rest of the year!
