11/16/17 -v- West Salem:  The Lincoln 8th grade boys basketball A team defeated West Salem 47-46.  After being down most of the game, they were able to make some key plays down the stretch and pull out a win.  The B game was also exciting, as their game went into overtime.  Unfortunately, they came up short and lost by two points.  Coach Bahr is pleased with both teams effort and sportsmanship. 7th grade A team: High scorers (Zyakki Jensen, Jaquan McKinney), Mr. Hustle (Jackson Greengrass). 7th grade B team High scorers (Letone Talley, Nolan Heath, Robert Benson), Mr. Hustle (David Eber).  Both teams defense is coming along way. 7B’s teamwork is improving and is shown by better sportsmanship and respect for their teammates. 7A’s offense is becoming fluid and they are beginning to put up some higher scores.

11/20/17 -v- Aquinas:  7th grade A team:  High scorers (Zyakki Jensen, Eli Stoval), Mr. Hustle (Leonard Brown).  This was the best all around game that the boys have played yet. They learned new plays on the fly at halftime and during timeouts. While they came up short, their defense was a great improvement. A few fixes here and there and they will be a well founded team.  7th grade B team:  High scorers (Robert Benson, Letone Talley), Mr. Hustle (Jvwels Kruse-Opute).  The defense held the other team to 10 points or less every quarter with their rock solid defense. The game came down to the very last second and was a thriller from start to finish. The boys played with heart and had fun along the way. They have come a long, long way and will be a team to fear in the future.

11/20/17 -v- Aquinas:  7th grade A-team lost 19 – 53. The boys came out to a slow start, but picked up the intensity very quickly which was shown by scoring points, high tempo offense, and crisp passes. The defense came to life in the 4th quarter and held the opposing team to 7 points. While they came up short this game there are quite a few positives to take away like an improved defense and an offense that is showing promise. High Scorers were Zyakki Jensen and Eli Stovall. Mr. Hustle Award goes to Leonard Brown.  The 7th grade B-team lost a close game 27 – 30. The boys came up just 3 points short in a nail biter vs Aquinas. To get the game close the defense held the opposing team to 2 points in the 2nd quarter while scoring 8 points in the 2nd quarter. This team is improving leaps and bounds every game and will soon be on the winning side.  High Scorers were Robert Benson and Letone Talley. Mr. Hustle Award goes to Jvwels Kruse-Opute

11/28/17 -v- Westby:  The 7th grade A-team lost 28-36. The boys outscored Westby in the 1st half of the game, but came up just short in the final score due to Westby making many of their shots. The team put themselves in the position to win by holding the opposing team to an average of 9 points a quarter. They ran the offense efficiently and worked together on defense. High scorers: Gabe Kattchee and Eli Stovall. Mr Hustle Award:  Nolan Heath. The 7th grade B-team lost 23 – 29. The boys played an amazing game defensively holding the opposing team to 4 points in the 2nd quarter and 2 points in the 3rd quarter. With a little work and fine tuning, they will be able to do that every quarter and will come out on top. The offense showed some life in the 3rd quarter when they put 10 points on the board.  High scorers: Leonard Brown and Gabe Kattchee. Mr. Hustle:   Jvwels Kruse-Opute. The 8th grade A team beat Westby 46-30.  Noah Compan and Collin Adams were the leading scorers with 18 and 14 points.  The 8th grade B team also beat Westby last night 20-16.  The game was tied with one minute left and Keivon Berkley made free throws to give Lincoln the lead for good with 30 seconds left.

11/30/17 -v- Sparta:  The 7th grade B team boys bounced back to make it a respectable game after scoring 0 points in the first quarter. The team rallied around one another and picked each other up in a tough game.  High Scorers:  Gabe Kattchee and Leonard Brown. Mr. Hustle:  Roman Westrich. The 7th grade A-team suffered a loss as well.  The boys came out of the gates hot but cooled off in the second half which allowed Sparta to pull away with the win. Highlights of the game were teamwork and rebounding on both ends of the court.  High Scorers: Gabe Kattchee and Eli Stoval. Mr. Hustle: Jackson Greengrass

12/4/17 -v- Tomah:  The 7th grade B-team won  40-32.  High Scorers:  Jackwon Coleman, Eli Stoval, Jackson Greengrass.  Mr Hustle: Nolan Heath. The 7th grade A-team won 40-21. High Scorers:  Gabe Katchee, Jakwon Colman. Mr. Hustle: Cornell Banks.  Both teams had their first win on the season for Lincoln 7th graders and it was hard earned. Both games the teams used precision passing, rock solid defense, and stellar teamwork to send Tomah packing. The boys have made leaps and bounds towards where they can be as a team and are close to getting there.

12/7/17 -v- Onalaska:  The 7th grade B-team suffered a loss 17-45.  High Scorers:  Gabe Kattchee, Cornell Banks. Mr Hustle: Jvewls Kruse-Opute.  Both games the boys were just out numbered. The opposing team took advantage of Lincolns slim numbers by subbing in fresh bodies very often and running a up tempo offense. While this was a tough two games to swallow, the boys will bounce back.

12/14/17 -v- Winona:  The 7th grade B-team worked well together and proved some naysayers wrong to earn another win on the year. The depth the team had on the bench allowed them to play aggressive defense and offense which led to Winona only scoring 4 points in the first half while Lincoln put up 17 in the first half.  High Scorer: Gabe Kattchee. Mr. Hustle: Roman Westrich The 7th grade B-team fell short to GET. The boys were outnumbered which led to being out played. They will look to bounce back an end the year with a win on Thursday when they take on Longfellow.  High Scorer:  Cornell Banks.  Mr. Hustle:  David Eber

12/19/17 -v- GET:  Despite being larger the boys fell short and learned that they still have to outperform and do all of the little things right to pull out with a win. The first half was rough, but fought back with a solid 4th quarter when they put up 15 points. They boys will wrap up the season at Longfellow on Thursday.  High Scorer: Eli Stoval. Mr Hustle:  Kent Larson

High scorers were Jakwon Coleman and Ken Larsen.  Mr. Hustle: Eli Stovall.  Both teams played with high intensity, teamwork, and demotion. It was a good end to the season which was well deserved and hard earned. The team that they are now would beat the team they were at the beginning of the year 50-0. Look out for these guys in the future.
