Lincoln Middle School
Teacher – World Language (Spanish)
Hola, y bienvenidos al mundo español! My name is Señora Wyland and I teach Spanish here at Lincoln/SOTA II/Coulee Montessori. I am thrilled to be working with middle school aged students for the fourth year after twelve years of teaching Spanish I-V at Sparta High School. The energy and enthusiasm for learning a second language are at high levels in kids at this stage, and it has been a treat to work with them! I started my teaching career by chance; I have a B.A. in Spanish from Viterbo and worked as a long-term sub in Holmen in the Spring of 2002, which helped me realize that I wanted to teach the language and cultures I love and led to my pursuit of a teacher licensure in 2004 and a Master’s in Education in 2007. I am particularly excited to begin earning a Certificate in Ethical and Servant Leadership from Viterbo University this Fall as well. I have traveled with high school students to multiple locations in Europe including Spain, France, Italy, and England, and I studied in Mexico in college, so I am a big advocate of travel and study abroad! My husband Brian and I have lived in Holmen since 2000 and our three daughters go to school in the Holmen District at all levels. I love to travel, cook, try new restaurants, seek out U2 and Coldplay concerts, and just enjoy in general all that the Coulee Region has to offer all of us. Please feel free to contact me any time via email or phone if you have any questions!
