I wrote a grant last year to purchase posters of men reading and wearing “Real Men Read” t-shirts. Thank you to the La Crosse Public Education Foundation for sponsoring our grant. Our male staff members and others in our community helped by taking photos and allowing me to create giant posters to hang around the school. By being a role model for our young men, readers will continue to grow! Have you read to the young men in your life lately or talked about what you are reading?
Art students have supersized every day items. Stop down to see the giant Altoid box, a large tissue box, and even a huge pair of headphones. Well done, artists. Thanks to Mrs. Burns for guiding these students into this adventure.
National History Day projects are in full swing. Students are frantically cutting letters for their displays, working on websites or scripts for their performances. Our 7th grade students will have a preliminary judging on February 6 with qualifying projects moving on to the large competition that will be held February 25.
Our library shelves may not have all the books in perfect order or our cutting station meticulously picked up, but our library is buzzing with activity by thinkers and creators. Isn’t that what is more important?!
