Other Announcement about ASP

North Woods International Families,
North Woods International has been supporting students in reading and math through our After School Program or “Kids’ Club”, as we affectionately call it, for many years.   This was made possible through funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, a funding source which allows schools to provide after school learning programs to students in high poverty schools.  However, it is my duty to inform you that the 2018-2019 school year was the last year of funding through this grant, and therefore After School Programming will not continue following the 2018-2019 school year at North Woods International.
I would like to thank our current After School coordinator Emily Bendel, and also our Title I Teachers, Sara DePaolo and Jeanette Schams, for support of the Family Nights, as well as our district After School Program supervisor, Lisa Schreiner.  Additionally, I would like to thank past coordinators of the program, Hannah Mick, Nicole Brudos, Leah (Bemis) Stammeyer, Bryant Scherer, Diane Ford and Kim Edwards for making this program possible.
Although we will not be providing after school support to students in math and reading, we will, however, continue to provide Co-Curricular after school programming options such as Art Club, Minecraft, Chinese Club, Euro-Games and Garden Club.  Co-Curricular programming options will be announced at the beginning of the next school year for students to sign up.
Additionally, I encourage you to check out other community resources such as the La Crosse Boys and Girls Club, La Crosse Park and Rec, and the Ho-Chunk Youth and Learning Center.
Sincerely,
Sandy Brauer
North Woods International Principal
