Mr. Scott Graham

My name is Scott Graham and I teach in the Third Grade at Summit Environmental School. I have spent my entire 25 year career at Summit, teaching in the second and third grades. I attended college in Minnesota, receiving a B.A in English at St. Olaf College, an M.S. in Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota, and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from St. Mary’s University.
I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, where I lived until coming to the midwest for college. In Alaska I gained a deep appreciation for the wilderness and outdoor recreation, spending a great deal of time outdoors with my family camping, hiking, backpacking, biking, and skiing. I have come to love the natural beauty of La Crosse as well, raising my own two daughters here while enjoying the Mississippi River and its bluffs, camping in the nearby State Parks, biking the bike trails and canoeing the rivers.
I have enjoyed the natural setting of Summit School throughout my career and have made use of it in engaging learners from the start of my teaching. I was thus very excited to be a part of the launch of Summit as a designated environmental school. I feel lucky to be a part of a dedicated staff that share my passion for outdoor learning.
I can be most easily reached during the school day before 7:45 a.m., between 9:45-10:30 a.m., or after students leave at 2:45 p.m.
