Hi! My name is Treena Schneyer, and I am the Title 1 teacher at Summit. I have been teaching elementary children since 1990. I have been the Title teacher at Summit since 2006. I have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a Master’s degree in Reading from UW-LaCrosse. I was born and raised in La Crosse.
Summit is a school-wide federally funded Title 1 school, so we are able to work with all students to improve their reading and math. Generally we support teachers during their Intervention/Enrichment (I/E) time to help meet all students needs in reading and math. The Title I Department includes one teacher’s assistant, Mrs. Denice Barrett. We look forward to helping your child grow as a learner.
We also sponsor a literacy night. These have included presentations from authors and on wild animals. Every Summit student gets a free book. Watch for more information on these upcoming nights!
I also am in charge of the After School Book Club Program here at Summit. This is an additional hour of time on Tuesdays when students work on improving their reading skills. We also have bussing available for this program. Your child’s teacher will contact you in mid September if your child is recommended for this program.
If you would like to talk about your child and reading, math or the Title 1 program please feel free to contact me at (608)789-8847 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
