Welcome to ELL!

My name is Mary Zong. This is my 18th year being an ELL teacher in the School District of La Crosse. My job is to help students improve their English in four domains: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. I have been fortunate to work at many wonderful schools throughout the years such as Hamilton, Spence, and now, Summit. I also work at Emerson Elementary. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from CSU-F and a Master’s Degree in Education-Professional Development from UW-L.

My years in teaching wouldn’t be possible without the love and support of my family. My husband and I have been blessed with 20 years together and we have four wonderful and energetic boys. They are my life and fill me with joy each and every day.

Family is one of the most important things in my life. Besides my own family, I have 5 brothers, 4 sisters, over 40 nieces and nephews, and over 30 great nieces and nephews!! WOW!!

In my spare time, I like to play volleyball, tennis, and pickleball. I am very competitive! I also like to scrapbook, watch movies, and sing.
