Hello everyone! I am Johnnyray Wildt (Mrs. Wildt), the new art teacher at Summit Environmental Elementary and Coulee Montessori at Northside Elementary School. A little about me, I graduated from Viterbo in May of 2016, and served as an art teacher at Bangor Elementary for four years. I am excited to start my fifth year of teaching at both Summit and Northside Elementary! I teach with the philosophy based on TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior). This philosophy “regards students as artists and offers them real choices for responding to their own ideas and interests through the making of art.” (TAB website). Students will have the opportunity to work in a variety of art mediums through centers such as: drawing, painting fiber, printmaking, sculpture and more! Students will also have what is referred to “have-to” projects that focus on specific techniques, materials, concepts, themes, and/or artists. I hope you will be just as amazed as I am at the creativity and skills that each child possesses! I actually have two children of my own, Ezra, my two year old son, and a four month old daughter named Sawyer Mae, so you can say I am keeping pretty busy these days.
