Community Resources & Events

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse provide recreational, enrichment, and athletic programing to youth ages 5-18 at five club sites in the city of La Crosse.  Here at Northside Elementary we are forunate enough to have the Boys and Girls Club come here and work with our students in grades K-2!  That means after school children in grades K-2 will stay at Northside and the children in grades 3-5 are “shuttled” over to the Terry Erickson Club site.

Children must be members of the BGC (Boys and Girls Club) to be part of its programming.  The annual membership fee is $20 per person.  This will ensure your child a daily after school snack and all the benefits the club has to offer.  Scholarships are available and no child will be turned away because of the inability to pay.

Terry Erickson Club

• Daily Hours:  Mon-Fri  2:30 – 6:00PM (grades 3-5)
• Non-School Day Hours:  10:00AM –  5:30PM
• Early Release Day Hours:  12:30 – 6:00PM

Northside Elementary Club

• Daily Hours:  Mon-Fri 3:00 – 5:30PM (grades K-2)
• Non-School Day Hours:  CLOSED (All members can attend the Terry Erickson site)
• Early Release Day Hours:  12:30 – 5:30PM

SNOW DAY POLICY:  If school is closed due to weather…the Clubs are closed too!

The YMCA offers school-age care at Northside Elementary both before and after school during the school year.  Keeping children safe is a top priority.  Parents/guardians sign their children into the program in the morning and students are released to class when the school day begins.  After school, students come to the program and must be signed out by a parent/guardian when picked up.
Financial assistance is available to families in need to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn and grow at the Y.

 Operating Hours

• Morning Hours:  6:30AM – Start of School
• Afternoon Hours:  School release until 6:00PM
• The Y does operate at Northside Elementary on early release days until 6:00PM.
• Kid’s Day Off:  The program is offered on most scheduled days off of school and is held at the YMCA-La Crosse.
