We kicked off our Spence PTO Read-a-thon with an awesome video made by two of our wonderful, creative staff. Check it out!  The Read-a-thon starts today and goes until March 1st, when money and forms are due.  Information, donation forms and collection envelopes came home in backpacks, but if you need another copy you can find it below. You can also donate online at bit.ly/spenceread18.

Influenza (Flu) Information and Guidelines

We have seen a large increase in the number of people testing positive for influenza (flu) within La Crosse County.  The flu shot has not been as effective as hoped, but it is still worth getting the flu shot, giving your child and you a little extra protection to avoid a trip to the emergency room or hospitalization. We have seen an increase in the number of people hospitalized with influenza (flu). Please read the following guidelines and suggestions about keeping you and your family healthy, as well as what to do if you become ill.

Influenza

annual update

Keep Your Information Updated!

Has your phone number changed?  Do you need to update emergency contacts? Have you moved?

As the School District of La Crosse continues to move towards additional access through Family Access, families now have the ability to update their own phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts, doctor, dentist, and hospital information throughout the school year.  You will also have the ability to update your address.*

*Updating your address will still require verification.  Your address will not be updated in our system until you provide this verification.  Please provide address verification (utility bill, phone bill, or mortgage/lease) to Spence or the Registrar’s office at the Hogan Administrative Center.

Asher M., and his partner Dr. Scott Rathgaber, recently won the annual RSVP’s Who Will Be Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Contest.  RSVP stopped by to present the $1,000 check to Asher, who will use the winnings for a project of his choice at Spence.  Congratulations, Asher!

The Spence Garden Party was a blast.  Thank you to all who made the garden and the party possible.  We are excited to watch our garden bloom and learn in our outdoor classroom space.
