All students are required to wear a mask on School District of La Crosse buses. No student will be denied transportation if they don’t have a mask; if a student does not have a mask one will be provided. Communication will occur with families that need assistance with the mask mandate.
When possible, a seating chart will be utilized to create the least amount of cross contact between students. Students from the same households will be placed together when possible. A maximum of 2 students per seat will be the standard. When possible, one student per seat will occur based on ridership. The district will reduce capacity as much as possible to accommodate social distancing.
Ridership rules will be enforced and only eligible students will be added to the routes. If your student is open enrolled, boundary exempt, or not eligible to ride they will not be added to routes unless it is determined there is adequate room to ride.
We will practice social distancing when possible, but it will not be possible to keep students 6’ apart given the fleet size, driver availability and amount of students that utilize transportation.
The district’s transportation vendor will clean and disinfect the bus before and after each full route.
If these guidelines are unacceptable we encourage parents to find alternative transportation solutions.
If you have any questions please contact the transportation department by email at email@example.com. We appreciate your support and understanding during these uncertain times.
