Ms. Cheryl Dummer
My name is Cheryl Dummer. I have been teaching since the fall of 1986. I have been at Southern Bluffs since the building opened in the fall of 1992, teaching either 2nd or 3rd grade.
I was married in December of 2002 to Mark, and we have two children; Laney [born in 2004] and Clay [born in 2006].
I look forward to working with you and your child. I hope this web site is helpful and meets your needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Students are expected to read from something of their choice nightly. I will check for your signature daily on the My Day Sheet which tells me that your child has completed this task.
The students will also bring home a Nightly Homework Sheet [NHS] or other homework choice papers. These go home on a Monday, and should be completed and returned by the end of our week.
Please remember, in second grade students should be spending about 20 minutes a night on homework. If your child is struggling with any of their work, please let me know.

We have many fun things planned for the 2019-20 school year. We love to have parents join us if interested, but be sure to have a current background check on file at Southern Bluffs at least 2 weeks prior to the event you wish to attend. Background checks are good for three school years at any La Crosse District school. Specific dates will be added as things are planned.
