Steering Committee

The SOTA I Steering Committee is an interactive teacher/parent led group. The main objective of the committee is to promote parental involvement in building the partnership between parents, school, and the community in educating our children. The group also works to facilitate communication between parents and the staff, to promote parental involvement in the decision making process SOTA parents are encouraged to attend our meetings. We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., in the LMC. Please consider attending to learn more about SOTA and take an active roll in your child’s education!

Fundraising Events:

Mornings at Moka on Septemper 9th & 10th whereby proceeds go to SSC.

GROW Get Together at Pearl Street Brewery on September 10th, 5 – 10 pm.

Possibly others at  La Crosse Distilling Co., Noodles,  whereby proceeds go to SSC.

Barn Dance Night on October 21st.

Chipotle Night on January 25th, 4 – 8 pm whereby proceeds go to SSC.

All Glazed Up Night is November 29th, 5 to 8:30 pm.  Fun night to create art and raise funds for SSC.

Equal Exchange store is November 15th-19th.

Java Vino Parent’s Night Out is on February 18, 5 – 8 pm

Bike Rodeo is tentatively set for May 19th: Volunteers are needed for planning and organizing this fundraising/community building event which takes place at a local park after school in May. Help is needed on the day of the event with food sales, silent auction, bike activities, and games.  Possibly a plant sale at the same event.

Other possible events may include Earth Day T-shirt sales and the Informance Art Auction.

Throughout the whole year families may help by participating in the Box Tops & Amazon fundraisers and our ongoing script orders.
